I get asked about partnerships, and I would rather publish my rules than answer the same email fifty times. Here is what I will and will not do, and how to start a real conversation.
THE PROMISE THAT COMES FIRST
The Tabs page is not for sale. Not a sponsor slot, not an affiliate link, not a paid placement, not ever. Every link on it is there because it is the official source or because it is genuinely the best tool for the job. If that page ever starts earning money, it stops being worth reading, and then so does the rest of this house.
WHAT I SAY YES TO
- Companies whose product I would use whether or not you paid me. Immigration lawyers, tax people who actually understand American expats, pet shippers, movers, language schools, banks that do not treat a foreigner like a problem.
- Being told the truth about what your service does badly, so I can tell my readers the same thing.
- A real trial. I try it, and if it is not good, I say so publicly and we part as friends.
- Anything that makes a hard week easier for someone rebuilding their life.
WHAT I SAY NO TO
- Paid placement anywhere on this site.
- Writing your copy for you, or reading from your script.
- Recommending something I have not used.
- Anything aimed at people who are scared and short on money, which is most of my readers, and which is exactly why the answer is no.
